- United Auto Workers in Strasburg, Virginia gathered outside of the International Automotive Components plant on Wednesday to protest the outsourcing of jobs.
- Support continues to mount for the 650 Lindsey, England oil refinery workers who recently lost their jobs. Some 4,000 workers across the country have gone on strike and many plan to stage a demo at the corporate headquarters of energy supplier Total in Paris next week.
- Minority business owners in Jacksonville, Florida are urging other minorities to boycott Bank of America for discriminatory lending practices.
- Air India employees are set to stage a sit-in at the airline’s offices on Friday to protest the management’s decision to withhold their salaries for two weeks.
- Tenant activists in NYC plan to tape their own mouths shut to protest the Rent Guidelines Board vote to raise rent for the city’s 1 million regulated apartments.
- South Chicago residents have been staging a sit-in since Monday in order to slow or prevent parking meters from being installed.
