Last week, Utne Reader nominated Waging Nonviolence for the award of best political coverage for the 2013 Utne Media Awards. The other three nominees in the category are TomDispatch, In These Times and The American Conservative.
In recent years, the Utne Reader has awarded this prize to The Nation, The American Prospect, and The New Republic. The winner of the 24th annual prize will be announced at the Magazine Publishers of America’s Independent Magazine Media Conference in New Orleans in late May.
Congratulations to all the writers, correspondents, columnists and supporters who have helped Waging Nonviolence grow in readership and prominence over the last year. As we cross our fingers for a trip south to the Big Easy, now’s a great time to become a member of the site and help us continue the work we do!
We warmly invite you on March 28th at 7:30 PM at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont IL for launch of Nonviolence: No Higher Calling movement with global humanitarian leader and an ambassador of peace Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The movement calls on each of us to commit to the principle of nonviolence in our lives, and inspire others with the principle of nonviolence Nonviolence is beyond the words; It’s about nonviolence in our every thought, word and action.
