Classroom Guide

Some ways that educators can use Waging Nonviolence in the classroom include:

  • Add content from Waging Nonviolence to your syllabus and advise students to check the site frequently. They will find many timely jumping off points for classroom discussion and/or paper topics.
  • Encourage students to comment on articles as a way to practice critical thinking and writing.
  • Assign students to compare our analysis of a major current event to coverage found in mainstream news sources.
  • Make use of our Topics, which organize our content according to subject matter. For instance, if you are teaching a course about labor struggles, click here and read through our content on that subject.

Have students send us their questions or comments. Our editors will be happy to correspond with them and point them toward further reading.
