- Environmentalists delivered a 15-metre-long scroll of messages to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Calgary on Monday. More than 150 people wrote notes urging Harper to take a stronger stance on climate change in preparation for the United Nations climate change conference in December.
- Climate SOS, New York Climate Action Group and Rising Tide North America protested what they called “a greenwashed US climate agenda” at the opening of NYC Climate Week by distributing their own version of the American Clean Energy and Security Act bill. Event attendees and the media received fake $2 trillion bills, which subtly depicted a collusion of prominent Green NGOs with corporate backers of the bill.
- More than 100 environmental activists gathered in Beirut, Lebanon last night to erect a Climate Change Countdown Clock marking the short time remaining to reach a strong equitable global climate agreement. The activists also called on Arab heads of state to engage in the talks.
