“Soul of Nonviolence” is a podcast that reflects on a different nonviolence quote each week. Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher or via RSS.
“The future of the Earth depends on a change of consciousness. The only hope for the future is in a change of people’s consciousness and the change is bound to come. But it is left to humans to decide if they will collaborate for this change or if it will have to be enforced upon them by the power of crashing circumstances. So, wake up and collaborate!”
— Mira Alfassa, “The Mother”
A quote from Mira Alfassa this week extends an invitation to wake up and step into our potential as changemakers. We discuss the historical connection between consciousness and social change, and how these sometimes go hand in hand with turmoil and catastrophe. And as we have heard in previous podcasts, growing consciousness does not happen by accident or by magic. It takes work, and a daily decision to be an agent of change.
We also talk about the importance of intention, as it can immediately awaken in us an ability to collaborate with life. With intention we become aware of opportunities to walk our talk, and what we change in ourselves ripples out into the world to spread change. With this knowledge comes an invitation to us to challenge business as usual to build a better world.
Thank you for this inspiring posting. The time is here for the people of the world to “UNITE” to promote nonviolence to meet the world’s crises. The Nobel Laureates recently issued an “Urgent Call to Action.”
We need action everyday, locally and globally, individually and as a group united as one.
A plan is ready to meet the emergency and it is “one step away from beginning!” Secretary-General Guterres set the stage with a call for a Global Cease-Fire. This is the most profound action in the world today. The new plan is the ideal follow-up plan and strength to sustain and perpetuate the Cease-Fire. The whole world can support and promote the cease-fire!
Campaign Nonviolence promotes what is needed first. Gandhi and King asked the people to commit to nonviolence and “practice.” Many organizations are doing it but it is time to be in the mainstream. It is time to unite to promote a Global Movement of Nonviolence, For the Children (GMofNV).
Let’s unite all the nonviolence groups with all the religious, spiritual, and peace groups. They already promote adhering to nonviolence, but now it is time to make nonviolence “the goal!” Please ask me about the strategy to begin the last step.
Peace and Love,
Andre
