Paul R. Dekar is professor emeritus at Memphis Theological Seminary. He has been a member of FOR since the 1960s (two terms on National Council, two years of which as Chair; member of the centennial committee) and is author of two histories of FOR, and several related books, including studies of two key FOR members, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Thomas Merton.
