Rev. Peter Laarman is a second-career minister who served as senior minister of Judson Memorial Church in New York and as executive director of Progressive Christians Uniting in Los Angeles prior to his retirement. In his first career he directed the communications operations of two national unions: the AFT and the UAW. Rev. Laarman currently works with the King and Breaking Silence Coalition, an effort by the National Council of Elders, SNCC Legacy Project, Highlander Center, the Fellowship of Reconciliation, and others to highlight King’s radical vision and promote the emergence of a culture of peace grounded in justice.
