By making a planned gift to Waging Nonviolence, you can help ensure that movements receive the kind of media coverage they need to succeed for generations to come. Such gifts can be set up via your will, retirement plan, life insurance policy or other assets — and also carry financial and tax benefits for you and your family.
We invite you to explore some of the options below and ask your attorney or financial planner what’s best for you. Should you have any questions in the meantime, please reach out to Waging Nonviolence Co-founder and Editor Bryan Farrell by calling (917)409-7934 or by emailing bryan@wagingnonviolence.org.
Wills and Bequests -Your will is the cornerstone of your estate plan and making a gift of it is what’s known as a Charitable Bequest. The process is as simple as adding a single sentence to your already existing will — or when you create one for the first time, which can be done simply and without cost.
Here is some sample bequest language:
“I bequeath $ ______ or ______% of my estate to Waging Nonviolence Inc.”
EIN 46-4615909
221 E 18th St #4C Brooklyn, NY 11226
Retirement Assets – While not normally part of a will, Retirement Savings form a significant part of working Americans’ assets. They include: individual retirement accounts, pension plans and annuities. Since such assets may be taxed (sometimes even multiple times) before being dispensed to your heirs, you might consider leaving other, less taxed assets to your loved ones and naming Waging Nonviolence a full or partial beneficiary of your retirement assets.
Simply request a “change of beneficiary” form from your plan administrator and add the following beneficiary:
“I bequeath $ ______ or ______% of my estate to Waging Nonviolence Inc.”
EIN 46-4615909
221 E 18th St #4C Brooklyn, NY 11226
Life Insurance – Another convenient way to leave a legacy for movement media is to name Waging Nonviolence as a recipient of a portion of a life insurance policy.
Simply add the following beneficiary to your policy:
“I bequeath $ ______ or ______% of my estate to Waging Nonviolence Inc.”
EIN 46-4615909
221 E 18th St #4C Brooklyn, NY 11226
