Originally from Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia, Hema Preya Selvanathan is a Ph.D. candidate in social psychology in the peace and violence program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She studies the psychology of social change and intergroup relations to help illuminate the antecedents, challenges and outcomes of collective action.
