Xiao Huamei (小花梅) is a pseudonym to protect the identity of the author. It is also a reference/tribute to an anonymous woman kidnapped in Feng Xian, Xuzhou, China, and made to give birth eight times. Officials said her name was Xiao Huamei (or “little flowering plum,” which is not even a real name) and declared that all her direct family members were dead and there were no other leads. The cover-up continues to outrage many Chinese.
