Karen Nairn is a Professor at the University of Otago. Her current research is about what inspires young people to join others to create social change. "Fierce Hope" published by Bridget Williams Books in 2022 is about six youth-led groups addressing Indigenous rights, climate justice, feminist and queer rights, and social and economic justice.
