Sophie Bond is an associate professor at the University of Otago. Sophie is a geographer who undertakes research and teaching in relation to environmental politics, climate justice, decolonization in Aotearoa New Zealand, just adaptation, and community-led responses to change. Recent work includes a longitudinal exploration of how climate justice activism against deep sea oil and gas in Aotearoa New Zealand responded and adapted to various tactics by big business, the government and the media to close it down.
