Revolution in three easy steps

    This just in from our friends at the School of Authentic Journalism and Narco News TV—retired revolutionary Ivan Marovic guides us through three easy (or hard) steps to bring down a dictator, just like he did in Serbia in 2000. Follow his lead, and maybe someday you too will be sipping the sweet margarita of democracy.

    Nathan Schneider is a journalist and assistant professor of media studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. He co-founded Waging Nonviolence and served as an editor in its early years. His most recent book is Everything for Everyone: The Radical Tradition that Is Shaping the Next Economy, and his articles have appeared in publications including Harper’s, The Nation, The New Republic, The Chronicle of Higher Education, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Catholic Worker, and others.       What do you think of taping your money shut with a real or fake dollar bill to symbolize how money is corrupting our government and regulatory bodies? I am suggesting doing this at the Nov.21, 2011, Delaware River Basin Commission, meeting set to approve new fracking rules.

      Also, what do you think of George Lakey’s 5 Stage Framework for Nonviolent Revolution outlined in his 1973 book, Strategy for a Living Revolution and updated in his 1987 book “Powerful Peacemaking: A Strategy for a Living Revolution?
