Maciej Bartkowski

Maciej Bartkowski is Senior Director for Education and Research at the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict and an adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University, where he teaches strategic nonviolent resistance. He is editor of Recovering Nonviolent History: Civil Resistance in Liberation Struggles. He continues writing on historical and contemporary nonviolent movements and campaigns. His work on civil resistance was published in openDemocracy, Atlantic Council, Waging Nonviolence, and War on the Rocks, among others. Dr. Bartkowski earned his Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in political science and international relations from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary and his B.A. degree from American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
